About the company

Located in the heart of the City, our client is a high growth, Private Equity-backed Fintech, providing servicing software and origination solutions for banks, building societies and lenders across Europe. Operating for over 20 years they are stable in the marketplace and through private equity investment in recent years, their focus is on growth organically and via acquisition.


The role would suit candidates who are looking for a part time position. The option has been presented by the employer to allow flexibility for the right team member and could arrange a suitable schedule to work for both parties.

About the role

You will be joining the organisation as their first dedicated in-house legal counsel (albeit with support both internally and from external counsel) and will be exposed to a broad range of work. This will include drafting and negotiating a variety of complex commercial contracts, particularly software and services but also reviewing existing group contracts and the negotiation of subcontracts and other related documents with service partners and advising on competitive tenders.

You will interact closely with senior management including the C-Suite and investors and play a key role in supporting growth moving forward, providing advice on new industry relevant legislation, evaluating and proposing solutions for any potential risk associated with contracts, regulations, financial compliance and legal.

The ideal candidate

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' PQE, significant commercial / contract experience and an understanding of IT/IP law, including software licensing. Excellent communication skills coupled with a confident, creative, proactive and pragmatic approach will ensure the successful candidate thrives.
