This Leading City firm are currently looking for an NQ Pensions Disputes associate to join their team in London.
The pensions disputes and contentious trust team sits within their wider commercial litigation practice group, and currently comprises of 2 partners, 4 associates and a trainee. The team are currently engaged in a wide range of high profile Chancery Division matters including acting for large institutional clients and pension scheme trustees in professional negligence claims (acting for both defendants and claimants), acting for high net worth individuals in private trust and pension disputes (often involving allegations of fraud) and acting for commercial trustees in disputes arising out of securitisation arrangements.
At present, the team are engaged in a number of high profile pension disputes and, at the outset at least, as an associate you will be spending at least 50% of your time on pension disputes (including professional negligence disputes in a pensions context). However, you will be expected in be involved in the full variety of cases which the team conducts. This includes private client trust disputes, commercial trust litigation fraud disputes (all with a trusts or probate element), insolvency disputes (again with a trusts element) and trust disputes which are part of divorce proceedings.
Whilst no knowledge of pensions or contentious trusts work is required, you will need to have an interest in 'black letter' law.
