Job description

My client is a FTSE listed corporate with a global footprint and revenue measuring in billions.

They're looking to hire an M&A counsel to join their high calibre legal team. This person will be responsible for group level M&A work working closely with senior lawyers and key business stakeholders alike. This is a rare opportunity to undertake a transactional role in-house outside of financial services or the investment space.

The idea candidate will drive legal aspects of global M&A projects, including transaction structure, legal due diligence, bidder process, deal negotiation, contract drafting, regulatory compliance and transaction management, as well as dealing with legacy issues associated with M&A projects, including claims.

The role entails working closely with the Corporate Development team and group companies on the successful integration of newly acquired businesses. Leadership skills will be a must as you will have the full responsibilty of managing and supervising outside counsel as necessary, ensuring clarity of instruction and cost efficiency.

The successful individual is likely to have a minimum of six years post qualified experience, having trained with a well-regarded law firm and ideally gained some in-house experience either through a subsequent move or in-house secondment.

In return the client can offer high quality work, a business focused role as part of a high calibre collegiate team and a competitive overall package.
