Schaeffler France is now looking to hire a Legal Counsel based in Bühl (Germany) or Haguenau (France).

Schaeffler is looking for a talented lawyer to assume responsibility and provide legal support with high motivation and enthusiasm for the Automotive OEM and Automotive Aftermarket business within the Region Europe. The legal counsel will report to the General Counsel Region Europe.



The role will cover a wide range of legal topics relevant to Schaeffler’s France and Western Europe Region, with specific focus on the French business.

The successful candidate will draft, negotiate contracts and work on a wide variety of commercial transactions. The role involves handling warranty and damage claims, supporting judicial and extrajudicial proceedings and working on transdisciplinary projects.



The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in business law from a French university with 5 years’ post qualification experience in an international law firm or in-house. Previous in-house experience in the automotive industry sector (or related) is advantageous but not a prerequisite. A strong experience in general commercial law is a real asset for the role.

To be successful on this position, you will be pragmatic, proactive and to have excellent negotiation and communication skills as you will work closely with the operational teams. Ability to work independently and have a responsible and professional is a must. A very good understanding of technical and economic correlations will be advantageous as well as the willingness to travel within Europe.

Fluency in English and French is essential. German is a plus.
