Mark Clarke joins Akin’s London office this month as partner and head of the firm’s International Arbitration practice, marking his return to private practice after two years in-house at global energy firm Proman AG.
With 25 years of experience in cross-border disputes, Clarke is recognised as a leading figure in energy and commercial litigation and has represented governments, state-owned entities and multinational corporations. His addition bolsters Akin’s global disputes and investigations practice and enhances its energy-focused offering, aligning seamlessly with the firm’s corporate transactional expertise in the energy sector.
“We are delighted to have advised Akin on such a pivotal hire,” said Adam Brown, CEO at SSQ. “Mark Clarke’s exceptional experience and expertise will be invaluable in strengthening Akin’s global disputes practice and energy sector capabilities. We extend our congratulations to both Akin and Mark on this strategic move.”
