Freshfields has strengthened its corporate and M&A capability with the appointment of Benoit Marpeau as partner in its Paris team.
Benoit joins from French boutique Peltier Juvigny Marpeau & Associés, bringing deep experience advising listed and non-listed clients on high-profile mergers, carve-outs and business reorganisations. Known for his negotiating acumen and creative approach to complex transactions, Benoit’s arrival supports Freshfields’ commitment to serving both French and international clients on strategic domestic and cross-border mandates.
“We are delighted to support Freshfields in securing Benoit’s appointment,” said Mélanie Tremblay, Managing Partner at SSQ. “His proven track record on sophisticated transactions and his understanding of client needs in the French market will be an important asset to the firm’s corporate practice.”
The hire marks another strategic step in Freshfields’ ongoing expansion in Paris as the firm continues to invest in market-leading transactional talent.
