SSQ is delighted to have recently worked with Osborne Clarke, an international legal practice with offices in the UK, Europe, US, and Asia, in the placement of Javier Fernández -Samaniego and his team to lead their new office in Miami.
Fernández-Samaniego is a renowned arbitrator, cybersecurity, and privacy expert with 27 years’ experience in commercial, transactional, and dispute resolution work.
A pioneer in privacy since the 1990s, he started his career in-house at Spain’s CDTI (Centre for the Development of Technology and Innovation) before spending over four years each at leading Spanish law firm Cuatrecasas and the Madrid office of Linklaters. He opened the Madrid office of Bird & Bird in 2005, heading the IT, Commercial and Dispute Resolution team and acting as Managing Partner, where he stayed until he launched his own firm in 2016, Samaniego Law, specialising in technology law and international dispute resolution.
Fernández-Samaniego joins Osborne Clarke as Partner and Head of their new office in Miami, a fast-growing hub for international arbitration and tech law. Together with Fernández-Samaniego, Maria Meshcherskaya joins as International Development Executive.
