SSQ is pleased to have advised in the successful placement of Claire Campbell as corporate partner at Kirkland & Ellis.
Campbell joins Kirkland’s Houston office from several years in-house at global alternative investment firm Stonepeak, where she served as a managing director and legal lead for the Houston deal teams, while also supporting transactions in New York and London. Her extensive experience includes negotiating mergers and acquisitions, structured equity investments, and managing portfolio-level legal issues post-acquisition.
Campbell’s experience representing private equity funds through all stages of fund activity, including fund formation, equity investments, and portfolio management, will be a great contributor to Kirkland’s continued private equity infrastructure growth and success.
“We are delighted to have advised Kirkland and Ellis on its continued growth in Houston and Claire Campbell’s hire as partner,” said James Newton, Director and Head of SSQ’s US team.
“Claire’s addition reinforces a number of market trends we’re seeing in BigLaw, namely the leading private capital law firms doubling down on strength in depth, the continued appetite for further PE infrastructure expertise and the growing desire of firms to hire the best in-house lawyers into partnerships. Congratulations to both parties on this excellent outcome.”
