SSQ, the global legal market consulting and talent solutions company, is pleased to announce that it has successfully assisted leading Singapore law firm Allen & Gledhill (“A&G”), in applying for and obtaining its practising licence for its opening in Shanghai, which is the firm’s first office in China.
It has been several years since the last foreign law firm secured a representative office licence and launched in Shanghai. SSQ helped A&G prepare its application documents, communicate with the Chinese review and approval authorities, and handle various regulatory uncertainties and logistics challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Post-approval, SSQ further supported A&G in following up on administrative matters with the relevant offices.
A&G officially opened their brand-new Shanghai office at the beginning of this year. Mr Yong Kai Chang is currently serving as the Chief Representative and Managing Partner of the office.
